KYOCERA – TRUE BLUE TEXTILE

OUTLINE

To raise awareness about water pollution and overuse caused by the textile and apparel industries, Kyocera launched the “TRUE BLUE TEXTILE” project, centered around the concept, “wear to protect”.

TRUE BLUE TEXTILE is an open-source textile developed and made possible with Kyocera’s latest printer technology, the dye-sublimation printer known as  “FOREARTH”. This technology allows for an extremely reduced water consumption in textile printing compared to conventional methods, making it possible for consumers to wear beautiful clothes while protecting our precious water sources.

This project was launched in conjunction with “World Water Day”, with the support of fashion designer Kunihiko Morinaga, and his brand “Anrealage” along with students from the Vantan Design Institute. This considerable pool of raw fashion talent helped develop the beautiful design of TRUE BLUE TEXTILE and many original fashion pieces.
