TBWA\HAKUHODO Head of Innovation, Kyoko Yonezawa appointed as Japanese member to the jury of the world’s most prestigious design award, ‘D&AD’.
01 February 2024
Kyoko Yonezawa of TBWA\HAKUHODO (HQ: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Akihiko Imai) has been announced as the Japanese member of the jury for D&AD, the world’s most coveted design awards, in the Digital and Social Category.
The D&AD jury, brought together by UK-based D&AD, is comprised of 350 designers and creators from over 50 countries spanning more than 40 categories. 11 creators and designers making waves in Japan have been selected for this year’s awards, now in its 62nd year.
Yonezawa was selected as this year’s Japanese juror for the D&AD Awards in the Digital and Social category, in view of her dedication to ‘total brand experiences’ that go beyond the ambit of advertising communication, by integrating technology. Besides the D&AD Awards in 2024, she will also sit on the jury for the IP & Product Design category of the highly prestigious The One Show, as well as the Branded Entertainment & Content category of the Clio Awards.
Yonezawa offered the following comments on her excitement at being selected as the Japanese member of the jury for the 62nd D&AD Awards, and her expectations of the entries:
“I look forward to engaging in discussions during the screening process with a jury panel that is diverse in terms of gender, nationality and background. The cross-pollination of viewpoints arising from our different perspectives will hopefully spawn all sorts of insights and discoveries. I feel that exposure to diverse ideas through the entries is not only a good source of stimulation, but also an input into my own work in the future. Brand experiences must continue to evolve in a way that brings long-term value to the world, rather than being ephemeral like a fireworks display. I relish the opportunity to encounter such disruptive output through these awards.”
