Takahiro Hosoda, Chief Creative Officer of TBWA\HAKUHODO, and Seiya Matsumiya, Music Supervisor of TBWA\HAKUHODO and CEO of Black Cat White Cat Japan, have been selected as awarding jury for the Cannes Lions 2023 International Festival of Creativity. Cannes Lions, which will be held from June 19 to 23, 2023, is the world’s largest advertising award and celebrates 70 years of defining the global benchmark for creative excellence this year.

The “Innovations Lions” at Cannes is like a time machine: AI, digital twins that reduce the risk of disasters, and new materials that do not harm the environment… Many of the things that are being buzzed about today have been discussed in the past, accompanied by concrete products and ideas. I cannot wait to peek into what the next generation has in store for us. I hope not only to learn but also to contribute to celebrating world-changing innovations with my own perspective.

I am honored to be selected to be a member of the Cannes Lions Jury for the first time. In recent years, the role of music has rapidly evolved as platforms for information dissemination have been swiftly changing. As a creator, I am excited to see what kind of innovative ideas will be gathered from around the world at this year’s Cannes Lions. I also have high expectations for the process of exploring new evaluation criteria through discussions with the jury team.
